Dundee Bus Project

The objective of the Bus 1 demonstrator project is to optimise the technology and mileage range of a double decker bus.  The University of St Andrews will work in partnership with Arcola Energy, leading systems integration experts in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies to deliver tis project.

The wider remit of the project will focus on promoting a clean, green transport ecosystem in Scotland by exhibiting the bus at targeted events to provide information about the technology to encourage citizens to make the modal shift onto green public transport and for organisations to transitions to zero emission vehicles.

Close links  already exist between The University of St Andrews, the Hydrogen Accelerator and Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) where Arcola Energy has established its Scottish base, creating around 140 high value jobs at MSIP.  The bus will act as a ‘mobile laboratory’ educating young people on future careers and skills within the sector to complement the Skills Academy at MSIP and Eden Campus.
